How to deal with brain fog with Ayurveda
The vata dosha governs the brain and nervous system. The vata dosha can be aggravated by the hormonal changes of menopause.
Prana vata governs the actions of all the other subdivisions of vata. If your prana vata is disturbed you may have brain fog, sleep problems, and trouble remembering things.
Stress, overstimulation through constantly being on screens and the phone and being always on the go all put a strain on your nervous system and your prana vata can become overactive.
Calming Your Overactive Prana Vata
To clear your mind and calm your prana vata try the following:
Get to bed by 10 p.m.
Have a regular bedtime and mealtime routine.
Stop multitasking. Relax your mind by doing one task at a time.
Try to use forced downtime such as being on a train/bus/taxi or waiting for someone to close your eyes and give them a much-needed break from screens.
On those downtimes try meditating or practicing a simple breathing exercise like breathing in for the count of 6 and breathing out for the count of 6. Try for five to ten minutes each time.
Follow the vata balancing lifestyle a diet plan – Access here.
Try a cup of warm milk boiled with a pinch of cardamom before bedtime to help calm your prana vata and help you sleep.
